You don’t have to look very hard to find ways to give back and serve in Milwaukee. What we aim to do is to provide easy ways area moms can get involved in their communities and learn more about the people that make our city awesome. This could take many different forms — a food drive, an organized service project, an interview with a local mom doing extraordinary thins, a photo series, or a community event. We’ve got big dreams on what future LoveMKE projects could look like and we are excited to have you along for the ride.
Ready to get involved right now? Here’s what we are up to.
LoveMKE T-shirt Campaigns
We’ve partnered with Ink to the People to design and produce exclusive t-shirts just for MKE Moms Blog readers. We frequently change up the organization that the proceeds from the sale of this shirt will go to support!

The Guest House
The Guest House of Milwaukee provides shelter, housing, education and services to Milwaukee men currently experiencing homelessness who seek to transform their lives with dignity and purpose. Our team got to visit The Guest House on May 16th to make sandwiches, a crucial service provided by Guest House. They hand out around 100 – 300 sandwiches each and every day! We were so impressed by what this organization is doing to pour into the Milwaukee community. Stay tuned for a full post of our experience.
How you can help:
Shop their Amazon Wish List – Use THIS LIST to shop the most immediate needs at Guest House for donations to meet basic needs. They are looking for things like toothpaste & toothbrushes, undergarments, socks, pillows, etc.
Volunteer – There’s a wide variety of opportunities to serve at Guest House for groups of every size! From providing a warm meal or offering professional services to making sandwiches or handing out personal care items, there is something for everyone. See the list of volunteer options HERE.
Hope House of Milwaukee
On February 2nd, Hope House of Milwaukee suffered an oven malfunction, causing the sprinkler system to engage and significant flooding damage to their emergency shelter and kitchen. They need our help! We partnered with Kidcycle and Friedens Community Ministries to mobilize our respective communities to restock the pantry and feed the residents while repairs take place.
How LoveMKE Got Involved
Provided Hot Meals – Hope House residents prepare their own meals in kitchen, but that is obviously off the table at the moment. So we partnered with a local, mom owned and operated business to bring them family-sized meals that are real crowd-pleasers. Cream City Casseroles is a meal order and delivery service and owner Jess is thrilled to be a part of helping out Hope House. Our community came together and purchased meals that feeds 6-8 people and Cream City Casseroles worked with Hope House to select their desired meal and coordinate delivery. Each large pan of food is $32 and feeds a crowd.
UPDATE: As of March 30th, our community has donated 10 large casseroles plus desserts to Hope House! Each large casserole feeds up to 8 people, so it’s safe to say we provided 72 meals. At the time of deliveries, Hope House had 27 guests, so these donated meals met their dinner needs for ALL of their guests for 2 full days, plus leftovers/seconds. THANK YOU for your generosity!
Building a LoveMKE Team
Around here we like to say we are building a community of moms who are willing to love on our city by loving on its people. To make this happen, we need a team. We are currently working on building a team of moms who have a heart for service and are ready to dive in and make a difference.
