Happy Healthy Halloween :: Event Recap

It’s Halloween weekend and we are thrilled to share the exciting details about our recent Happy Healthy Halloween event over at the West Suburban YMCA in Wauwatosa! If you ever get frustrated by the sugar overload at Halloween, you’ll love how all our amazing partners came together to create an experience that kids could truly enjoy that didn’t lead to an afternoon sugar crash. Thanks to our sponsors The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County and Honest Teeth Dentistry this playdate-style event for families was a total blast, ensuring that children with food allergies or particular sensory needs were celebrated and included!

The Venue :: The West Suburban YMCA

The YMCA is synonymous with healthy families, so it was the perfect venue to have this event. Oftentimes, the YMCA is thought of like a typical gyms or fitness club, but the Y is so much more than that! The Y is a place that is filled with hope and belonging, with programming for all ages, abilities, skills, and interests. Plus, child care!

This month, all 5 locations affiliated with the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County are offering a free trial week for you and your family to come and check out the Y before the weather gets cold!

Honest Teeth Dentistry

We are thrilled to have Honest Teeth Dentistry as a Title Sponsor for this event! Located in Elm Grove, Honest Teeth Dentistry has been serving Milwaukee and its surrounding communities for the better part of the last 25 years.

The staff at Honest Teeth talk with you about your teeth and they want to get to know each family that comes in the door. Mr. Max and his team work hard to ensure they are providing helpful feedback to keep you happy and healthy during the moments that matter most: the ones when you’re not in the dentist’s chair. The Sponsors and Activities

Life’s a Party Face Painting and Dream Parties ::

Leea of Life’s a Party Face Painting was easily one of the biggest highlights of this event! Kids lined up like crazy and it was wonderful to see all their amazed faces as they saw the finished product. Leea uses only the highest quality face paint and goes the extra mile, using glitter, gems, and so much more. She books up quickly so be sure to contact her far in advance for your upcoming event!

Speaking of fun events, the professional characters from Dream Parties are every kid’s dream. Princesses, superheroes, and more! At our event, Princess Aurora and Spiderman were a huge hit. We love how well they interact with guests and it’s so cool to see kids’ faces light up when they see their favorites.

Rukus and Glee and Chiroway of Brookfield ::

Just before the holiday season is the perfect time to discover Rukus and Glee, a local toy store in Wauwatosa. We loved playing with the wood & magnet block toys they had on display and they also featured Thinking Putty, one of the coolest toys for kids of all ages, especially for those with sensory disorders. Be sure to visit Ruckus & Glee to shop local for fantastic toys and games!

Chiroway of Brookfield is one of our favorite area businesses that works to make keeping your family healthy both affordable and convenient. Sara of Chiroway is wonderful with young kids and makes adjustments fun by “getting the popcorns out.” The beauty of Chiroway is that you can come in as often as you want, with no appointment, and be on your way and subluxation-free in minutes!

Angelic Bakehouse, The Real Good Life, Bon Bree Brick Cheese and Sassy Cow Creamery ::

A healthy Halloween event wouldn’t be complete without yummy and healthy treats and these three brought quite the combo! Angelic Bakehouse is one of our very favorite Milwaukee companies that specializes in breads, wraps and more from sprouted grains.

One of the most exciting new businesses in the Shorewood area is The Real Good Life, a meal delivery service featuring delicious home-prepped dinners delivered right to your door.  The menu changes each week and it’s the perfect solution for busy families!

Here in Wisconsin, we love our cheese, so we were thrilled to feature Bon Bree Brick Cheese! Kids and adults alike got to enjoy sample of original, dill and other flavors of cheese, made right here in the Milwaukee area.
