Feb. 4 Milwaukee’s Monthly Family Magic Show Come watch a rotating roster of family friendly magicians with every month as a different show so come back for more! See the link for ticket and time information.
Feb. 4 Great Lakes Pet Expo Pet fundraiser show with animal entertainment, educational presentations, specialty pet products and services. Local rescues and shelters are featured with their companion, adoptable pets.
Feb. 4 Laura Ingalls Wilder Birthday Bash What better way to celebrate Laura Ingalls Wilder’s 150th Birthday than with a barn full of other Little House fans? Join us for this exclusive one-day-only Fan event. Suitable for ages 6+. Ticket price includes live music, performance, all craft supplies and food and beverage. Event is being held in the Clausing Barn.
Feb. 4 Riveredge Kids Cooking Series – Valentine’s Edition This program will be a feast for your mind and your appetite! Create delicious, easy-to-make recipes for beginner chefs and utilize healthy, fresh ingredients in the kitchen. Each participant will leave with a sweet jar of jiffy jam to share with their Valentine at home.
Feb. 4 Family Day at Milwaukee County Historical Society On Saturday, February 4th, the Milwaukee County Historical Society welcomes families and people of all ages to an exciting day of hands-on fun with our 2017 feature exhibition, Melodies and Memories: 200 Years of Milwaukee Music. This event and admission is FREE.
Feb. 7 Oak Creek Library Family Day Search for your favorite Pokémon at the Oak Creek Public Library. Prizes will be awarded to all participants. Please note this scavenger hunt does not require the use of a smartphone or the Pokémon Go app. Don’t know anything about Pokemon? That’s okay, all clues are library related. This program is FREE and is geared towards children ages 5-10, but all ages are welcome. Registration not required. Located in Library Multipurpose Room.
Feb. 8-11 Big in a Rug Children’s Series: Goodnight Lulu Paulette Bogan’s fabulous book is brought to life with crackling wit and huge laughs in the original musical. Saying goodnight can sometimes take a little coaxing and convincing, especially for Lulu the chicken. You’ll help Momma hen get Lulu tucked in and fall asleep for the night. Feb. 11 Valentine Making Party at Kith and Kin Children will have the opportunity to make their own styles of Valentines for their loved ones. All decorating materials will be supplied.
Feb. 11 Greendale Winterfest Join us in the heart of Historic Downtown Greendale for a day filled with winter fun! Participate (or just taste) in our annual Chili Cook-Off contest, watch our talented ice carvers turn a block of ice into a beautiful work of art, write a Valentine for the Armed Forces, and ice skate with Roscoe the Admirals mascot! We will even be bringing back the Master and Missy coloring contest for Greendale third graders – one boy and one girl will have the chance to win a ride in our Village Days parade and get FREE Ferch’s custard for a year. Our wonderful shops on Broad Street will be having specials and activities throughout the day.
Feb. 12 The Dinosaur Diary of Dr. T-Rex With a focus on the Cretaceous Period, Dr. T-Rex takes you on a tour through the Mesozoic Era — the Age of Dinosaurs. Using hilarious comedy, incredible life-size puppets, and real fossils, this interactive show encourages kids of all ages to continue exploring the world of the dinosaurs.
Feb. 14 Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating with Kith and Kin Cookies, frosting, and sprinkles will all be supplied for decorating!
Feb. 18 Family Ice Fishing Adventure Whether you’re new to the sport or an experienced angler, bring your family on an ice fishing expedition with our Young Scientists Club! Transportation, equipment and, most importantly, hot cocoa will be provided. Please register by Thursday, February 16. Fishing license required for ages 16 and up.
Feb. 18-19 Winter Festival in Cedarburg It’s almost time for Cedarburg’s 2017 Winter Festival. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras. See the popular Ice Carving Contest where 300 pound blocks of ice are transformed into glistening blocks of frozen art! The festival will also feature a chili contest, Grand Parade, musical talent competition, dog weight pull, bed races on ice, fun kids’ events and, of course, cold brew and tunes.
Feb. 25 Urban Candlelight Hike There’s something for everyone at the first ever Urban Candlelight Hike: a pizza buffet, hot chocolate, churros, hiking/snowshoeing, a roaring campfire & marshmallows, and toasty warming shelters await! Over 500 lights lighting the trails!
