Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club :: Follow The Leader.

This post is sponsored by Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club. We are pleased to provide our readers with more information about organizations such as this in the Milwaukee area.

One of the joys of doing what we do here at MkeMB is learning about all the amazing things happening all over the greater Milwaukee area. We hear stories of moms who are leading their families and changing lives, we meet kids who are going to be world-shakers once they learn to tie their shoes and we get to cross paths with organizations and people who are using their gifts and talents to make their communities better.

The Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club is just one of these.

In 1968, MKSC founders had a vision: attract, develop, and retain soccer players of all ages and abilities without regard to gender, race, national origin, religion or socioeconomic status. To do this, MKSC created a cost-effective and financially stable organization with quality coaches, referees, and administrators.

Today MKSC has a membership of over 8,000 youth. Programming starts at age 3 in MKSC’s MiKro soccer program that introduces children to the sport. MKSC’s youth recreational program serves 6,000+ players age 5-17 who enjoy fun, fitness and playing with friends on the field. For youth players interested in a more competitive, higher skill level program, MKSC’s Academy is tryout-based and offered for ages 10-18.

To complement programming, the club also hosts a number of popular and well attended annual tournaments including the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Invitational, Kohl’s Spring Rec, Pepsi Cup, and Kohl’s Fall Rec. In addition, the WIAA Boys & WIAA Girls State Championship Tournaments are hosted at the club’s home, Uihlein Soccer Park – Wisconsin’s premier indoor/outdoor soccer complex that is visited by over 600,000 people a year.

Kickers & Our Community

milwaukee kickersCommitted to serving its members, the club is also committed to its community and donates hundreds of staff and field hours to provide underserved and at-risk youth the ability to play through organizations like MKSC’s Community Outreach program America SCORES Milwaukee. The soccer park also hosts free or reduced fee clinics and offers year-round Open Play (weekday indoor field play for MKSC members and the general public) when field space is available.

In the words of MKSC Executive Director Alvaro Garcia-Velez, “The Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club is a nonprofit organization built on a foundation of not only giving youth regardless of personal circumstances the opportunity to play soccer, but a foundation to support the city we live in. The Club’s community impact reaches far beyond our home, Uihlein Soccer Park, and we will continue to expand our leadership footprint, and engage with and extend our resources to our community.”

Comprised of 800 coaches, 650 teams, 60 leagues and 15 regions that span across Southeastern Wisconsin, MKSC is one of the largest and most respected youth soccer organizations in the country.

We invite you to learn more about MKSC and join us on the field very soon!
