Love, Momma :: A Poem for Mother’s Day

If I tell you now
you will cherish
the hairs in the brush
I used,
would you believe me?

You will close
your eyes and wish
the things you said
were left unspoken.

You would’ve said thank you,
I love you more.

It is not your fault,
but the fault of youth.

Sleep tonight because
all along I knew.
I wished and taught
lessons yet to be

Everything I could
I did,
and somethings
I couldn’t, but
I Did
for you.

You are my greatest gift
to humanity
truly of myself.

Happy Mother’s Day, from our team of moms……to you.
